#21 Merry Christmas🌲and Happy New Year

Image
Merry Christmas everyone! And Happy New Year! Hope y'all had a great week and enjoyed your Christmas! Our Christmas was pretty good! We had Walmart brand cinnamon rolls (they tasted so fake but it was ok) and fancy chocolate milk for breakfast. We then opened the presents Santa brought which included a sweater, ties, and a book. We then got to talk to the family. After that we weekly planned before going to lunch with a member. That night we got together with the mission and sang hymns. It was super fun!  We also got to go to the giving machine this week. Our shift was from 10-12 and hardly anyone came the first 1 hour and 50 minutes but the last 10 minutes it was packed. It was super weird wearing regular clothes and not being able to wear my tag. We also got to be in a trio a couple of times this week. It felt like we were in a biking gang riding down the streets of Las Vegas. We were able to see so many miracles yesterday! We were able to have a lesson with someone we've ...

#20 Getting Sandy in Sandy Valley

Image
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your Christmas season has been amazing! On Wednesday we had our mission Christmas party. It was so fun! We were listening to normal Christmas music which was a little weird, and then we watched Home Alone 2 which felt very weird. But it was also pretty cool. Sister Nielson made some really funny comments anytime a character did anything "inappropriate" like swearing or smoking. We then sang Christmas carols which was also really fun.  That night I went on exchanges with my district leader in Sandy Valley. Sandy Valley is about an hour drive from Vegas and I got to drive all the way there   It was also my first time leaving the Las Vegas valley. It was weird not being able to see the strip that night and also being able to see the stars. It felt like I was in a completely different mission. It was pretty cool. And I found out really quick why it's called Sandy Valley. After just like an hour you would have thought that my black shoes...

#19 6 hour personal study!!

How's it going? Hope y'all had a great week! On Wednesday we had zone conference! It was super awesome. We talked a lot about teaching by the Spirit. Then President announced that on Monday we would have a 6 hour personal study to learn more about the Atonement of Jesus Christ from the Book of Mormon. So we were all super excited for that! I also got to see my papi Elder Judd again which was super cool. Friday was our ward Christmas party. We got to help hand out the food and then we got pictures with Santa Claus. Bishop also had an amazing suit that we had to get a picture with. On Sunday we had a missionary music devotional. It was super powerful. I was singing in the choir which was a party. The Spirit was super strong and I know all the friends that came to the devotional felt the Spirit too. Then came the 6 hour personal. It was so awesome!! I thought for sure I would come close to falling asleep, but I was totally locked in the whole time. I always knew that the Book of...

#18 Magic Dancing Shoes

What's up everyone!? I hope you all are doing amazing! Not too much happened this week so this might be a short email. On Saturday we had a breakfast with all the missionaries in the zone at a member's home. Brother Moffat kept bringing us more food and more chocolate milk even though I told him I was full. He just kept saying, "you're on bike elder you need to eat more calories." I probably ate more at that breakfast than the rest of the week combined.  On Sunday we got to speak in church! I honestly don't mind speaking. I spoke on the Book of Mormon Christmas story. We are a lot like the Nephites at the time of Christ's first coming. They were waiting for the words of the prophets to be fulfilled. We are waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and we need to stay faithful to what we know. When we are always prepared for the Second Coming our lives will be happier and a lot more joyful.  We then went and helped in primary. There was the magical pai...

#17 What Are You Thankful For?

What's up everyone! I hope you had a great  Thanksgiving week!  On Wednesday we did exchanges with the zone leaders. I was with Elder Mautz who was mtc comps with my trainer! So it was pretty cool to talk with him.  Thanksgiving was a pretty interesting day. We were able to play pickleball with the zone in the morning which was pretty fun. We then went with some members of our ward to take Thanksgiving dinner to the firefighters. It was really cool and they gave us a tour of the firetrucks and let people shoot water from the fire hoses. After that we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Sister Andersons house. It was really fun. The food was great and it was just a good time. Thankfully, we only had one dinner. I would not have been able to stomach multiple huge meals because I have a pretty small stomach. On Thanksgiving we weren't supposed to go knocking doors, so we decided to go out to a park near by and take around a whiteboard and have people write down what ...
