#7-Viviann's Baptism!!

Image
How's it going everyone? I hope you all had a great week and have been enjoying some nicer weather. I think I might have said this last week, but I honestly believe the weather in heaven is the weather on a late September evening in Las Vegas. It has been soooo nice outside and has made biking pretty fun. So the best part of my week was on Saturday and Sunday when our friend Viviann was baptized and confirmed. It was a pretty small baptism, but there was such a sweet and sincere spirit there. After she was baptized she bore her testimony and it was really powerful. You could tell that even though she is still pretty new to the Gospel, she knows that it is true. I also felt the Spirit on Sunday when she was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a sweet experience and I know I will remember it for a while. On Saturday I was asked to play the piano at a different baptism which was in Spanish. That was pretty interesting because I didn...

#6-One of the Hardest Things I've Ever Done

What's up everybody!  I hope you all had a great week. Mine was pretty good and we had a few interesting things happen. First I'll start off with our friend Vivian who has her date set for baptism on Saturday. We've been meeting with her a lot and she's just amazing! She willingly accepts any invitation we offer her. She alo has great support from members in the ward. Other than Vivian, the finding and teaching has been tough this week. Nobody really wants to listen to us which is kind of sad. We were able to meet a couple people which was pretty cool. We were visiting someone who the previous missionaries in the area were teaching, but we had never gotten in contact with her. But when we were walking back to the car we saw her neighbor. We asked if she wanted to her a message and she actually accepted! She said she was struggling with some healt problems and we promised that she could find healing through Jesus Christ. We met with her again later in the week but she ...

#5-Viva Las Vegas

What's up everyone!? This past week has definitely been crazy! There's been a lot that was good and a lot that was hard, but I guess that's missionary work for you. If you didn't hear last week, my first companion is Elder Judd who I went to high school with. It's been really fun to talk about home with him. He thinks it's really crazy that when he tells his stories I actually know who he's talking about   My first area is in the Meadows stake which is northwest Las Vegas. We cover two wards in that stake. If you guys have never been to Las Vegas and you want to know what it's like, just imagine Idaho, but like 10-15 degrees hotter and where you see grass, instead picture rocks and dirt. Other than that it's not too different from what I know. But the drivers are a lot crazier which has made for some fun car rides. But I guess I have seen a bit of grass because one area is a little more wealthy so they can afford to care for grass. Also most of the ...

What's up everyone?! This email will be pretty short because I was traveling today and my P-Day is almost over. And by the way my P-Days will be on Tuesday in the field. The last week of the MTC was good. We had a devotional with Sister Amy Wright of the Primary Presidency. She spoke on leaving on a mission one way and then coming back a changed person.  Other than that. The rest of the MTC was basically the same. We would go to classes and do a whole lot of practice.  Today we checked out of the MTC and boarded buses and trains to get to the airport. It was fun to eat some really good food. Not that the MTC food was terrible but Cafe Rio is just that good. Our flight was delayed an hour and a half so we got into Vegas late. We quickly went to the mission office and had a quick lunch and met with President and Sister Nielson. I can already tell I'm going to learn a lot from them.  And now for the title. I got to meet my trainer and it's Elder Dyson Judd who went to...
