#7-Viviann's Baptism!!

 How's it going everyone?

I hope you all had a great week and have been enjoying some nicer weather. I think I might have said this last week, but I honestly believe the weather in heaven is the weather on a late September evening in Las Vegas. It has been soooo nice outside and has made biking pretty fun.

So the best part of my week was on Saturday and Sunday when our friend Viviann was baptized and confirmed. It was a pretty small baptism, but there was such a sweet and sincere spirit there. After she was baptized she bore her testimony and it was really powerful. You could tell that even though she is still pretty new to the Gospel, she knows that it is true. I also felt the Spirit on Sunday when she was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a sweet experience and I know I will remember it for a while.

On Saturday I was asked to play the piano at a different baptism which was in Spanish. That was pretty interesting because I didn't really know when I was supposed to start playing, but it all worked out and they appreciated it a lot. And even though I couldn't understand everything the speakers were saying, I still knew that their words were true and it was a really cool experience.

We went on exchanges this past Friday and I was with Elder Fristoe. I got to have the sim card for the companionship that day which means I got to make all of the phone calls and send out all the texts. Calling people honestly wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be. Shoutout to Roaring Springs for helping me prepare for my mission! Elder Fristoe is 23 so it was cool to be able to hear his experiences and his advice because he is a bit older than a lot of the other missionaries. Basically the entire day we were trying to find people to teach, but no one really wanted to listen to us. It's hard when people don't want to listen, but I know that all our hard work doesn't go unnoticed.

We also had zone conference this past Wednesday and it was super awesome. I loved hearing from our mission leaders and getting to know some of the other missionaries. One of my biggest takeaways is that this is not my mission. This is the Lord's mission. I am here for Him and not for my own personal enjoyment. This is His work and He trusts me to labor with Him.

Other than that, not too much happened this week. I'm excited for this next week where I have the opportunity to become more converted to the Lord and become a more consecrated missionary.

My spiritual thought today comes from the vision of tree of life found in 1 Nephi chapter 8. Verse 33 says "And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not." What I love about this is that all the chaos was still around those that were pressing forward to the tree. But they heeded them not because they knew where their focus was. When we focus on Jesus Christ we can have the faith to keep pressing forward not matter what is going on around us.

I hope you all have a great week!
