#16 All alone?

Image
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have had a great last week and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. This has been probably the craziest week of my mission so far. So first of all, last Pday we picked up our trainees. My son's name is Elder Empey. He is from Farmington, Utah. It's been pretty fun so far. We're all on bike which is both the best and the worst. It's the best because we get to talk to everyone and I don't have to worry about gaining a ton of weight   But it's also the worst because it gets pretty cold at night and my legs are always tired. It's also really sketchy riding at night because the people who designed the roads of Las Vegas decided that they should only have bike lanes or a sidewalk like half the time. So we get to risk our lives every night which is super fun  Also it's been a pretty interesting week because we whitewashed this area so we both don't know anyone in the ward. Also we were left with 0 green dot...

#15 Transfers and a Baptism

How's it going everyone? I hope your week was fantastic! Mine was pretty good so let's get into it. First, we have transfers today and I'm going to be a dad! That means that I'll be training and new missionary right out of my training. I'm super excited and also super nervous. Especially since we're whitewashing a new area so I have no idea what's going on in the area. Also we're completely on bike this transfer so hopefully I don't freeze to death. Because while Vegas winter doesn't get as cold as back up in Idaho or Utah, it still gets pretty cold and the wind can be brutal. But now through 3 transfers I've had 3 companions, 3 apartments, and I've been in 3 different zones. So I guess I never get to get comfortable   It's all ok though because I know this is what Heavenly Father wants. The biggest highlight this week was our friend Joan's baptism! It was so sweet! Basically the whole ward showed up and a lot of people were cry...

#14 Sleepover!

How's it going everyone? I hope y'all had a great week! There's only one thing to say after this week. The Lord is in the Vineyard!! This is His work and He is with us every step of the way. Yes, some days were still hard, but we were able to see so many miracles this week and I know it's all because of our Savior Jesus Christ. On Wednesday we did zone leader exchanges and I was with Elder Christensen in his area. It was super windy that day and I was kinda missing the triple digit days   But we saw so many miracles that day. We were able to get into contact with people they had been trying to get in contact with for the entire transfer. So that was really cool. I also got to drive for the first time in like 3 months which was a little scary but also not bad. It was nice not having to worry about ringing the lines and sending out texts all day long. We had interviews with President this week. It was really good. I especially loved my interview with Sister Nielson. We ...

#13 Spooky Zone Conference

Image
What's up?! I hope everyone is doing well! Not too much happened this week so it'll probably be a short email. But let's get into it. We had zone conference on Halloween and it was awesome! We talked a lot about the importance of having the faith to find, teach, and baptize. If we don't have the faith to find the people the Lord has prepared, we probably won't be able to find them. We also talked about the importance of recognizing the Spirit. It was also fun because now I know more people in the mission so I felt less awkward than last time.  After that we only had like an hour and a half to go out because we had to be back in our apartment by 6:30. One of the senior missionaries Elder Baird came by and brought us some Halloween treats which was cool. I went on an exchange with Elder Bennion on Saturday. We did a lot of service that day. I was shoveling rocks for so long that day.  We also had stake conference this weekend which was really good. I saw Brother and...
