#16 All alone?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have had a great last week and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
This has been probably the craziest week of my mission so far. So first of all, last Pday we picked up our trainees. My son's name is Elder Empey. He is from Farmington, Utah. It's been pretty fun so far. We're all on bike which is both the best and the worst. It's the best because we get to talk to everyone and I don't have to worry about gaining a ton of weight
But it's also the worst because it gets pretty cold at night and my legs are always tired. It's also really sketchy riding at night because the people who designed the roads of Las Vegas decided that they should only have bike lanes or a sidewalk like half the time. So we get to risk our lives every night which is super fun

Also it's been a pretty interesting week because we whitewashed this area so we both don't know anyone in the ward. Also we were left with 0 green dots (people we are currently teaching), 0 yellow dots (people with interest), and 1 recent converts who no longer comes to church and hasn't answered any of our communications. So we've just been trying to find which has been really hard because no one ever wants to hear a message. But I know that our hard work doesn't go unnoticed. We will be able to see miracles as we keep having faith.
On Friday we had new missionary orientation which was really good. I feel liked I learned more this time than I did when I was a new missionary. Afterwards we had to pick up a new car and President approved for me to drive alone for like 5 minutes. So that was really interesting. I felt kinda disobedient but it was also fun driving alone.
We opened a new apartment so nothing was set up. We spent some of our first few days building our desks and chairs. We also didn't have any shower curtain rings for the first couple days. But then bishop bought us some. He is so awesome.
We had stake conference on Sunday. I have already been to 3 stake conferences in the 3 months that I have been here. I love stake conference so I'm not complaining.
This week has been a bit overwhelming. I've been trying to figure out how to work this new area, trying to figure out how to train, and then I also don't feel like I know completely how to be a missionary because I've been out for not very long. But this week I've tried to rely more my Savior Jesus Christ. I've seen that I've been given the strength to tackle each new day. It's still hard but I know Jesus is with me every step of the way.
One verse that really stuck out to me this week was one of the most famous verses in the Book of Mormon. It's 1 Nephi 3:7
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. What really stuck out to me this time was the second half of the verse. If the Lord asks us to do something, He will provide a way for us to accomplish it. The Lord will always give us to strength to do what He needs us to do!
I hope you all have an absolutely fantastic Thanksgiving! And remember to give thanks to our Heavenly Father because everything we have us from Him!
