#12 Trunk or Treat

Image
How's it going? I hope you all had a great week! Mine had some ups and downs so let's get into it. We had a ward trunk or Treat on Thursday which was really fun! They had us missionaries judge the costumes and the trunks. We gave the best costume award to this 3 or 4 year old girl dressed up in a Belle costume. It made her day and it was fun to see how happy it made her. We also got glow-up watches and Pokémon cards. We got some pretty good pictures with our watches and with Garfield.  I also went on exchanges with Elder Deuel this week. He loved watching animated stories from the Book of Mormon when he was younger so we got to talk about that which was cool. We also got bashed which was really funny. He was saying the Jesus is the only way to heaven and we just told him that we agree. He then had to change his argument. But we just testified of Jesus Christ instead of arguing. This weekend was looking like it was going to be fantastic for lessons, but then one by one almost...

#11 Nutmegged!

How's it going? I'll get right into the highlights from this past week. I found out that my good friend Elder Forsberg's family is in my new stake (not in my ward). So at church this past week I was able to see his missionary plaque. It's pretty cool that there's some familiar faces in this stake. So far we've had a pretty good start to the transfer. Me and Elder Hansen play this game when we're walking up to doors where we try to meg each other with rocks. That just means that we try to kick rocks in between each other's legs while they're walking. We've gotten some pretty crazy ones that I think deserve to be on the sports center top 10 plays of the night. We met with this one lady in our new ward who is on date for baptism in November. She is so sweet. She can't hear very well so we're basically yelling the entire time. But we were able to teach her the plan of Salvation and talk about how the purpose of this life is to have joy. And...

#10 Transfers and Dia de la Familia

Andrew Jensen Oct 15, 2024, 6:51 PM (3 days ago) to  ande0822 , bcc:  me What's up everyone?! I hope you all had a fantastic last week. Mine was very eventful so let's get into that. First I'll start with the transfer news. Both me and Elder Judd were sorta transferred. He is now a zone leader and he has one of our wards (Alexander) and a Spanish ward. I have our other ward (Painted Desert) and then Mountain Crest. My wards are in two different stakes which is weird for my mission. My new companion is Elder Hansen. This transfer should be pretty good. It's also different because it's only 5 weeks because of Thanksgiving so it'll be pretty fast. I'm sad that I'm leaving my papi Elder Judd but Elder Hansen will be a great companion. This past transfer had been hard to find lessons, but this week we had so many miracles. We met new friends who are awesome and very interested in progressing. We had some great lessons this week. The best one was with this o...

#9-General Conference and the Temple

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week and a fantastic general conference weekend! Other than conference, this was a pretty typical week, but there were still a few couple things that happened. We spent most of our week trying to get people to watch general conference. We had these cards that we would give everyone we saw. And more people watched than we actually thought would! So that was cool. I know that listening to the words of the prophets is super important and cam help us feel the peace we all need in our lives. We also got to go to the temple with one of Elder Judd's recent converts. And the Las Vegas temple is so cool! It's in the east mission so we don't get to go a ton, but President did give us permission to go. It was so nice to be back in the temple. The grounds were really pretty and there was such a sweet spirit inside the temple. The peace you can feel in the temple is unlike anything the world can offer. Right after the temple we had interviews...

#8-Play Date with President

What's up everybody! I hope everyone had a great week! This week was weird because it had some of the best days and also some of the hardest days of my mission so far. To start off, you know how the past two weeks I talked about how the weather was absolutely perfect. Well, it turns out, Las Vegas was actually hitting us with the nastiest pump fake of all time because it's back up to 105 everyday and I'm sweating buckets again  . But now everyone we talk to offers us water so that's pretty great. On Wednesday I went on exchanges with one of our zone leaders Elder Blackham. That day was so much fun. We talked to absolutely everyone we saw even if they were far away and we had to speed walk to catch up with them. We also brought a ward member named Sergio along for a couple hours that day. He's preparing to serve in the Missoula Montana mission and he's so cool. It made it so much fun. On Thursday we had what we call our "play date" with President and ...
