#3-Birthday Party at the MTC

Image
How's it going everyone? This past week was very eventful! I won't be able to say everything or else none of you would probably read this. Last Wednesday I woke up at 4AM to leave for the MTC. I was really sad to leave my family but I couldn't be sad for too long because apparently my plane ticket wasn't paid for so we had to try and figure that out. By the time we did I had to rush to the gate so I had to quickly say goodbye to my family. What was funny was that the person right in front of me in the security line was my cross country coach Tracy Harris. It was kinda cool to see him but we were only able to talk for a little bit. I rushed to my gate and met with a few other missionaries from Idaho. And then the plane was delayed an hour so I could have said a longer goodbye   But it's all ok. I basically just chilled with those Idaho missionaries for the rest of the day until my district and companion got there. The elder that led my companion to my room was actu...

#2-At-Home MTC and Kan Jam

How’s it going everyone? This past week of at-home MTC has definitely had some really good moments. But I’m very excited to leave for the Provo MTC bright and early tomorrow morning! My schedule each day was very similar. I would have two three-hour long classes and then usually 1-2 one hour workshops. Then I also had companion and personal study. Other than that, I didn't really have too much to do so I spent a lot of time outside playing Kan-Jam with my family. And I would like to say that I got pretty good, but my little brother Ben was still quite a bit better than me. I'm going to miss playing games like that with my family. This week in our classes we learned a lot about how to teach simply. Even though we know a lot about each topic, we shouldn't bombard the people we are teaching with information that isn't important to our missionary purpose of inviting others to come unto Jesus Christ. We also did a lot of practicing. We often went into break-out rooms to prac...

#1-And So It Begins

Hello friends! I don’t have too much to write about because I’ve only been a missionary for just about 2 days, but I just wanted to write a little bit. I was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday. I was set apart by my stake president, President Keller. The blessing that he gave me was super powerful and the spirit was so strong. Yesterday was my very first day of at-home MTC. I got to meet my companion and my district. My comp’s name is Elder Taylor and he’s super cool. He’s the only one in my district going to my mission. My district is also pretty cool, though I don’t know them super well yet. I was surprised that the 8 hours of zoom classes weren't as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn't too hard to focus and stay awake. One of the funnest things was the big 700 person meeting with all the missionaries starting that day. I was able to find some of my friends like Elder Gardner, Elder King, and Elder Grant. I also found ...
