#73 Youth Z-Con

Image
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Pday was moved to today because we had a special zone conference yesterday with all the youth in the mission. We had over 250 youth show up and it was so much fun!! We called it the missionary boot camp. We had trainings on Preach My Gospel, the Book of Mormon, Temple covenants, priesthood power, a day in the life of a missionary, and missionary standards. All the youth loved it so much and all the missionaries had a ton of fun too. Near the end we did a stake vs stake competition and my stake, Desert Foothills, won the whole thing!! Desert Foothills on top!  This week we also had MLC and it was really good. There were a lot of things that we felt we needed to change. So we're going to change up the way we do District Council and role plays. It's going to be so good and a lot more effective. After MLC we always make what's called a Mission Improvement Plan which is a plan of what we can do to become more effective missionaries. This Ja...

#72 Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!!! P-day was moved to today for Christmas Eve so this is my very first Wednesday pday. This week was pretty fun. We had our mission Christmas party. Half the mission was there on Wednesday and half was there on Thursday. It was really fun!! We listened to some Christmas music, watched Klaus, and ate way too many cookies. It’s crazy after not having watched a movie for a year to actual watch one. It was really good and actually connects quite a bit to missionary work.  We also helped out with new missionary orientation on Friday. We got there early to help set up and I finally know how to completely set up the microphones!!!   That may not seem like a big deal but it's actually super complex and it made me feel good that I didn't need to call anyone for help. I got to go on another exchange in Duneville   We decided that we'd spend the day in the south part of the area because that's where the people that actually progress live. Bu...

#69/70/71 Transfer Chaos

Image
These past few weeks were pretty crazy A couple weeks ago we spent the whole week in the mission office with President and Sister Coleman planning the upcoming transfer. It was decently fun, but I also understand why all the past assistants say they don't look forward to it. The craziest part of transfer planning was that with the year change in the middle of the transfer, we had to change a lot of area to make ward meeting times match. While my companions were figuring out most of the companionships, I was looking at all the meeting times and trying my best to match them up. It hurt my brain so much especially because I was also kinda sick, but we got it all done and it should all work  We had transfers last week. Everything stayed the same for us so I get to spend another transfer traveling the whole mission   This transfer I didn't get to go and pick up the new missionaries from the airport which was kind of sad, but I get to meet them at the mission office righ...
