#69/70/71 Transfer Chaos

These past few weeks were pretty crazy

A couple weeks ago we spent the whole week in the mission office with President and Sister Coleman planning the upcoming transfer. It was decently fun, but I also understand why all the past assistants say they don't look forward to it. The craziest part of transfer planning was that with the year change in the middle of the transfer, we had to change a lot of area to make ward meeting times match. While my companions were figuring out most of the companionships, I was looking at all the meeting times and trying my best to match them up. It hurt my brain so much especially because I was also kinda sick, but we got it all done and it should all work 🤞

We had transfers last week. Everything stayed the same for us so I get to spend another transfer traveling the whole mission 😎 This transfer I didn't get to go and pick up the new missionaries from the airport which was kind of sad, but I get to meet them at the mission office right when they got there which was fun. I love new missionaries and their desire to share the gospel. The scariest part of transfers was that the system we use for our areabooks went down right when we were submitting the new transfer board. Because of this, all the areas that changed didn't get any new members, people currently being taught, and people previously taught. We called Salt Lake to try and figure it out but they didn't even know what to do. But then on Sunday morning we had a huge miracle!! All the people just randomly appeared in their areabooks!! We were pretty stressed out the whole week, but now I know God was just testing us

A couple weeks back our friend Ricky was baptized!! We met him a few months back. It was 8:50pm on a pday night and we were about to head back for the night when Elder Gurr spotted someone going into his garage. So I rolled down my window and called out to him in the pitch dark. And he's progressed pretty steadily since then. I know God was in the details on that one. It reminded me of Elder Uctdorf's talk "Fourth Floor Last Door." We easily could have said it was too late and we should just go home, but because we kept working, another one of God's children has rejoined the fold!!

I got to go on three 2 day exchanges this past week. They were super fun but also really tiring. I also grabbed the air mattress that doesn't work so I spent half the night every night this past week on the floor. My back kinda hurts but it's all good. No point in complaining.

During sacrament meeting this week we sang hymn 169 "As Now We Take the Sacrament"
Verse 2 really stuck out to me this time. One line says "The way to thee is righteousness, the way thy life was spent"
That reminded me of 2 Nephi 2:3 when Lehi was talking to his son Jacob. "Wherefore, I know that thou art redeemed, because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer; for thou hast beheld that in the fulness of time he cometh to bring salvation unto men."
These were both a great reminders that we are saved not by our righteousness, but we are saved because Jesus Christ was perfectly righteous. It is His perfect life that brings hope to all of us. That is why I love Christmas. Jesus Christ came and did exactly what He said He would do. He really is our Redeemer!

Have a great week!
