#20 Getting Sandy in Sandy Valley
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your Christmas season has been amazing!
On Wednesday we had our mission Christmas party. It was so fun! We were listening to normal Christmas music which was a little weird, and then we watched Home Alone 2 which felt very weird. But it was also pretty cool. Sister Nielson made some really funny comments anytime a character did anything "inappropriate" like swearing or smoking. We then sang Christmas carols which was also really fun.
That night I went on exchanges with my district leader in Sandy Valley. Sandy Valley is about an hour drive from Vegas and I got to drive all the way there
It was also my first time leaving the Las Vegas valley. It was weird not being able to see the strip that night and also being able to see the stars. It felt like I was in a completely different mission. It was pretty cool. And I found out really quick why it's called Sandy Valley. After just like an hour you would have thought that my black shoes were actually brown. So that was a pretty fun exchange.

It was super awesome and it was a really good meeting. We saw so many miracles this week! It's been so great to see how the Lord is in the work and it's definitely progressing.
One thing that we've been sharing a lot this week is Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." I love the first part that say unto US a child is born and unto US a son is given. The whole reason Christ came to Earth was to save us. He loves each and everyone of us so much. He gave us the greatest gift anyone was ever given. He made it possible for each one of us to live with God and our families again. It is impossible for us to ever repay Him for what He did. But He doesn't ask us to repay Him. All He asks of us in return for this gift is to keep His commandments and to serve others. This Christmas I want each one of you to think about what gift you can give to Jesus Christ. This could be as simple as smiling at people as you pass by them on the street. This could also be bearing your testimony to a friend. But just find something that you can do to thank Christ for His incomprehensible gift.
Have a merry Christmas!!
