#73 Youth Z-Con

 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!


Pday was moved to today because we had a special zone conference yesterday with all the youth in the mission. We had over 250 youth show up and it was so much fun!! We called it the missionary boot camp. We had trainings on Preach My Gospel, the Book of Mormon, Temple covenants, priesthood power, a day in the life of a missionary, and missionary standards. All the youth loved it so much and all the missionaries had a ton of fun too. Near the end we did a stake vs stake competition and my stake, Desert Foothills, won the whole thing!! Desert Foothills on top! 😆

This week we also had MLC and it was really good. There were a lot of things that we felt we needed to change. So we're going to change up the way we do District Council and role plays. It's going to be so good and a lot more effective. After MLC we always make what's called a Mission Improvement Plan which is a plan of what we can do to become more effective missionaries. This January MIP is the most simple but probably also the best MIP ever. 


This month we're going to find Jesus Christ as we find more of His children to teach 🙏 

I got to go on a 3 day exchange with Elder Proctor and Elder Johns. Elder Johns has been out for 2 weeks. It was a really good time. We worked so hard and biked even harder. It was also pretty cold for the first time this year. It was 50 degrees with wind. And that may not sound cold, but for someone who is now fully acclimated to Las Vegas weather, it was freezing 🥶

With the passing of President Jeffery R Holland, I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes from his talk "Safety for the Soul"

Brothers and sisters, God always provides safety for the soul, and with the Book of Mormon, He has again done that in our time. Remember this declaration by Jesus Himself: “Whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived”—and in the last days neither your heart nor your faith will fail you. Of this I earnestly testify in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I echo his testimony with mine. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It will bring you closer to Jesus Christ when you study it. If you don't have a testimony of the book, I'd love to invite you to join our mission in reading the whole book in the month of January. I can promise that as you prayerfully do so, you will gain a witness of its truth and divinity.

#10 Transfers and Dia de la Familia

First I'll start with the transfer news. Both me and Elder Judd were sorta transferred. He is now a zone leader and he has one of our wards (Alexander) and a Spanish ward. I have our other ward (Painted Desert) and then Mountain Crest. My wards are in two different stakes which is weird for my mission. My new companion is Elder Hansen. This transfer should be pretty good. It's also different because it's only 5 weeks because of Thanksgiving so it'll be pretty fast. I'm sad that I'm leaving my papi Elder Judd but Elder Hansen will be a great companion. This past transfer had been hard to find lessons, but this week we had so many miracles. #5-Viva Las Vegas

 What's up everyone!? This past week has definitely been crazy! There's been a lot that was good and a lot that was hard, but I guess that's missionary work for you. If you didn't hear last week, my first companion is Elder Judd who I went to high school with. It's been really fun to talk about home with him. He thinks it's really crazy that when he tells his stories I actually know who he's talking about   My first area is in the Meadows stake which is northwest Las Vegas. We cover two wards in that stake. If you guys have never been to Las Vegas and you want to know what it's like, just imagine Idaho, but like 10-15 degrees hotter and where you see grass, instead picture rocks and dirt. Other than that it's not too different from what I know. But the drivers are a lot crazier which has made for some fun car rides. But I guess I have seen a bit of grass because one area is a little more wealthy so they can afford to care for grass. Also most of the ...
