#15 Transfers and a Baptism
How's it going everyone? I hope your week was fantastic! Mine was pretty good so let's get into it.
First, we have transfers today and I'm going to be a dad! That means that I'll be training and new missionary right out of my training. I'm super excited and also super nervous. Especially since we're whitewashing a new area so I have no idea what's going on in the area. Also we're completely on bike this transfer so hopefully I don't freeze to death. Because while Vegas winter doesn't get as cold as back up in Idaho or Utah, it still gets pretty cold and the wind can be brutal. But now through 3 transfers I've had 3 companions, 3 apartments, and I've been in 3 different zones. So I guess I never get to get comfortable
It's all ok though because I know this is what Heavenly Father wants.
It's all ok though because I know this is what Heavenly Father wants. The biggest highlight this week was our friend Joan's baptism! It was so sweet! Basically the whole ward showed up and a lot of people were crying. Joan was pretty worried about it because she has a bad hip but it went perfectly! She was confirmed in church the next and that was also such a great experience. I'm just so grateful that I got to be a part of Joan making her first covenant with God. It was really sad to say goodbye to her yesterday because even though I only knew her for 5 weeks she definitely made a big impact on me.
The rest of the week was more knocking and talking to everyone. It got discouraging sometimes getting no after no and no answer after no answer but as long as we're putting in the work, Jesus Christ will magnify our efforts. And I would take ten thousand nos to find the one like Joan who is ready to start a covenant relationship with God.
I went on exchanges with Elder Deuel on Wednesday which was pretty fun. They are over the YSA so we got to talk to some pretty cool people that day.
My thought today is from Moroni chapter 7. I don't have time to write out the verse but I really love verse 41 which talks about hope. Life is difficult. But because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can have hope knowing that everything will work out. Jesus Christ is the one who gives us hope.
Have a great week!
