#6-One of the Hardest Things I've Ever Done

 What's up everybody!

I hope you all had a great week. Mine was pretty good and we had a few interesting things happen.

First I'll start off with our friend Vivian who has her date set for baptism on Saturday. We've been meeting with her a lot and she's just amazing! She willingly accepts any invitation we offer her. She alo has great support from members in the ward.

Other than Vivian, the finding and teaching has been tough this week. Nobody really wants to listen to us which is kind of sad. We were able to meet a couple people which was pretty cool. We were visiting someone who the previous missionaries in the area were teaching, but we had never gotten in contact with her. But when we were walking back to the car we saw her neighbor. We asked if she wanted to her a message and she actually accepted! She said she was struggling with some healt problems and we promised that she could find healing through Jesus Christ. We met with her again later in the week but she didn't come to church which was a little sad. But she loves the Book of Mormon which is awesome!

My first week here in Las Vegas was really hot, but this past week was soooooo nice. It was high 80s with a slight breeze. The nights were so peaceful and it just felt like heaven. I was definitely sent here at the perfect time 🌴

Now it's time for one of the hardest things I've ever done and it's probably not what you think. We get fed by members basically every night, but last Sunday both wards that we cover had someone sign up to feed us. And for those of you who know me well, you know that I have a small stomach and I have a hard time saying no to people. The first house was a Spanish speaking sister so I felt like I had to eat a lot. It was really good but I wish I had eaten just a little less. I tried eating as much as I could at the second house but it was soooo hard because I was soooo full. But I was able to make it through and I think both families felt appreciated.

Now missionary work is also pretty hard. Getting rejected all day long is not the funnest thing in the world. But it'll all be worth it once we find the one that is ready! The other thing that made this week hard was that I was kind of sick. Not sick enough to stay inside and not work but it still did affect me.

One funny/scary thing that happens is that there is this cat at our apartment complex that seems to teleport. Everyday we come back from a day of work and it's like it's just waiting for us. It's often on top of a car or waiting on the sidewalk in front of us. It almost always gives me a mini heartattack. I'm so scared that one of these days I'm going to get home and it's just going to be in my bed 😼

I was asked to give a training at district council this week even though it was only my second week in the field and this is what my spiritual thought is going to be on. The training was on chapter 5 of Preach my Gospel which is about the power and the importance of the Book of Mormon. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. When we really read and ponder it, we will come closer to Jesus Christ. 2 Nephi chapter 32 verse 3 says "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." The Book of Mormon answers the questions of the soul. We can find the answer to any question we have in the Book of Mormon. Even if your concerns have nothing to do with church I promise that when to take time to immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon everyday, you will be able to find the solution to those concerns. My invitation to all of you this week is to take your concerns to God in prayer and then search in the Book of Mormon. I promise that if you read the Book of Mormon everyday, your lives will go smoother and you will feel more peace and joy in your lives!

I hope you guys have a great week!
