#17 What Are You Thankful For?
What's up everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving week!
On Wednesday we did exchanges with the zone leaders. I was with Elder Mautz who was mtc comps with my trainer! So it was pretty cool to talk with him.
Thanksgiving was a pretty interesting day. We were able to play pickleball with the zone in the morning which was pretty fun. We then went with some members of our ward to take Thanksgiving dinner to the firefighters. It was really cool and they gave us a tour of the firetrucks and let people shoot water from the fire hoses. After that we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Sister Andersons house. It was really fun. The food was great and it was just a good time. Thankfully, we only had one dinner. I would not have been able to stomach multiple huge meals because I have a pretty small stomach. On Thanksgiving we weren't supposed to go knocking doors, so we decided to go out to a park near by and take around a whiteboard and have people write down what they are thankful for. It ended up being a lot more successful than I thought it would be! We were able to hand out some pass along cards and it was a pretty good time. We then went and bought some pies from Albertsons for dinner. It was a really fun Thanksgiving!
The work so far in this area has been pretty slow. Not very many people want to hear a message. But then for some reason on Sarurday, everything changed. We were able to talk to so many people and a lot of people said we could stop by later and share a message! It was so cool to see how when we work hard and are obedient the Lord blesses us with so many miracles.
I know you all are probably going to make fun of me for this, especially since it's probably very cold where you all are, but Las Vegas cold is just different. 50 degrees in Vegas is so much colder than 50 degrees in Idaho. We were freezing the entire week. I swear that 50 degrees here is like 30 degrees everywhere else. Either that or I've already adjusted to Las Vegas weather which means I'm probably going to die when I get home and it's 25 degrees.
In Alma chapter 34 Amulek invites us to "live in thanksgiving daily." I love this thought. God has given us so much. Everything that we have comes from Him. So we should always remember Him and what He's done for us. And when we live in thanksgiving daily we're able to see more of His tender mercies all around us. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. He has done everything for me. I'm grateful for His Atonement which allows me to improve each day. I'm thankful for my family and the support they are for me. I'm grateful for this opportunity that I have to be a representative of Jesus Christ and serve with Him here in Las Vegas. It is such an honor to serve Him

Other than that not too much else happened this week. I hope everyone has a great week!
