#90, 91 May the Tacos be with You

 These past couple weeks were pretty great! We had a lot of meetings but we were also able to just get out and get some work done!! The secret (not really that much of a secret) to finding joy is to choose Jesus Christ and then get out and work as hard as possible.


Last week we had an exchange with the scary APs 😬😬😬😬😬 Just kidding Elder Pulsipher is the least scary person ever. It was great to be back in Spanish Hills for the day. We helped this family move out and they had this 500-700lb safe and they were up on the third floor of an apartment complex without elevators. We talked about it for about 30 minutes to see if we wanted to attempt to take it down the stairs. We ended up deciding not to because it would either break the stairs or break one of us. 

We had interviews with President and Sister Coleman on Saturday. They are my favorite people in the world. The only sad part about this new area is that I don't get to spend as much time with them 🥲

We've been teaching this awesome lady named Sklyer. She just got married to a member of the church and she has such a great desire to help her 19 month old baby grow up in a Christ-centered community. She is so awesome and is praying about a date to be baptized, so please pray for her!! Right after a lesson with her we knocked on a member who hasn't been coming to church, but instead we talked with this guy who we played basketball this last pday. It turns out he was meeting with the missionaries up at UVU and he plans on getting baptized when he gets back to school in the fall. And then we found out that he is Skyler's brother and that the inactive member that we knocked is her dad. Pretty crazy string of events but just shows that God is at the head of the work.

We had MLC again last week. It feels like MLC is every other week. But this one was really good. We talked about 100% responsibility and goal setting. The Lone Canyon Zone is doing really well right now and as we continue to set goals and make plans centered on Jesus then month of May is going to be so good 😆😆😆

One thing that has stuck out to me this week is how Jesus Christ changes people. One example from the scriptures is the sons of Mosiah.

"3 Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble.

4 And thus did the Spirit of the Lord work upon them, for they were the very vilest of sinners. And the Lord saw fit in his infinite mercy to spare them; nevertheless they suffered much anguish of soul because of their iniquities, suffering much and fearing that they should be cast off forever."

Turning to Christ changed the sons of Mosiah and turning to Christ has changed so many people that I've met on my mission. We were at a youth devotional on Sunday and I has the opportunity to testify of how Christ has changed the friends I've taught. I felt the Spirit so strong as I gave glory to the Lord for the miracles He has blessed me with. I know Jesus has changed me and I know He changes everyone who gives their heart to Him 😇

First I'll start with the transfer news. Both me and Elder Judd were sorta transferred. He is now a zone leader and he has one of our wards (Alexander) and a Spanish ward. I have our other ward (Painted Desert) and then Mountain Crest. My wards are in two different stakes which is weird for my mission. My new companion is Elder Hansen. This transfer should be pretty good. It's also different because it's only 5 weeks because of Thanksgiving so it'll be pretty fast. I'm sad that I'm leaving my papi Elder Judd but Elder Hansen will be a great companion. This past transfer had been hard to find lessons, but this week we had so many miracles. #20 Getting Sandy in Sandy Valley

  Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your Christmas season has been amazing! On Wednesday we had our mission Christmas party. It was so fun! We were listening to normal Christmas music which was a little weird, and then we watched Home Alone 2 which felt very weird. But it was also pretty cool. Sister Nielson made some really funny comments anytime a character did anything "inappropriate" like swearing or smoking. We then sang Christmas carols which was also really fun.  That night I went on exchanges with my district leader in Sandy Valley. Sandy Valley is about an hour drive from Vegas and I got to drive all the way there   It was also my first time leaving the Las Vegas valley. It was weird not being able to see the strip that night and also being able to see the stars. It felt like I was in a completely different mission. It was pretty cool. #7-Viviann's Baptism!!

  How's it going everyone? I hope you all had a great week and have been enjoying some nicer weather. I think I might have said this last week, but I honestly believe the weather in heaven is the weather on a late September evening in Las Vegas. It has been soooo nice outside and has made biking pretty fun. So the best part of my week was on Saturday and Sunday when our friend Viviann was baptized and confirmed. It was a pretty small baptism, but there was such a sweet and sincere spirit there. After she was baptized she bore her testimony and it was really powerful. You could tell that even though she is still pretty new to the Gospel, she knows that it is true. I also felt the Spirit on Sunday when she was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a sweet experience and I know I will remember it for a while.
