#85 The Blackwell's Backyard
Super good week! We had a lot of meetings but it was still really good.
Wednesday and Thursday we had zone conference and they were probably the best zone conferences I've ever been to. The spirit was so strong and it was so focused on Jesus Christ. We talked about how Mosiah 2-6 connects to the covenants we make in the temple. Me and my companions gave a training on being called to the work and truly accepting the call. We talked about a talk from President Oaks in 1984 on why we serve. There are so many reasons to serve like hope for an earthly reward, a sense of duty, and hope for an eternal reward. But the greatest reason and the only one that will make a lasting change is the pure love Christ which is charity. We then talked about how we can develop that as our reason to serve. I think it was pretty good. On Thursday Elder Fiorito and Elder Kisby gave a training and oh wow, that was maybe the best training I've ever seen. They talked about anchoring ourselves to Christ and they went step by step through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Spirit was so thick in that room you probably could have cut it with a knife. Now it's time to go and apply the Spirit we felt at zone conference.
I went on an exchange with Elder Yoder this week to El Camino. Elder Yoder is from Boise and his brother married someone I used to work with at Roaring Springs. So that was kinda funny. But El Camino is pretty funny because it's an English ward, but more than half of the people who live in the ward boundaries speak Spanish. So I spoke a lot of Spanish that day. I think probably 90% of the people we talked to didn't speak any English. It was still a good day though. We were biking all day and it was pretty hot so I was super sweaty, but it felt pretty good.
Our friend Ezekiel (the super prepared one from last week) is getting baptized this Saturday!!! All the church buildings near us are being used that day for stake conference or some Easter activity, so Ezekiel is getting baptized in one of the members of our ward's backyard pool
That reminds me of one of my favorite verses.
That reminds me of one of my favorite verses."30 And now it came to pass that all this was done in [the Blackwell's backyard], yea, by the waters of [the Blackwell's backyard], in the forest that was near the waters of [the Blackwell's backyard]; yea, the place of [the Blackwell's backyard], the waters of [the Blackwell's backyard], the forest of [the Blackwell's backyard], how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever."
I love Jesus Christ! I am so grateful that I am coming to know Him on a deeper and more personal level. Life becomes so much better when we come to the knowledge of our Redeemer.
Y'all have a great week! Pray for our mission to find people who want to be baptized
