#30 Throw It Out!!

Hey y'all! Hope you're having a great week!

This week I finished the Book of Mormon again. And what a book it is! Basically every single page testifies so powerfully of Jesus Christ! There's no other explanation for it other than it is God's word. Put down your phone right now and go read the Book of Mormon. It will bless your life so much 🙏
And then go tell someone what you found

One of my favorite verses is Moroni 10:32
"32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."

We can be perfected only through our Savior Jesus Christ. This life was never about what we can do on our own. It has always been what we can do when we come unto Christ and yoke ourselves to Him.

This was a pretty solid week! We were driving to go workout one morning, and there was just a wild horse 🐎 right outside our neighbor's house. Only in Pahrump!!

Also our miles got cut this month so we had to start biking 🚲 And it was so great being back on bike! Even though I was only away from biking for like 10 days, I really missed it. But then less than an hour into biking, Elder Nessen went down and got a couple scrapes and bruises. And then the next day we were biking I got my first flat tire of the mission. So biking in Pahrump has been an adventure so far.

OK story time. We had to take our friend Jimmy off date because of some word of wisdom issues. On Sunday morning he texted us and said he wouldn't be at church that day because his water and power was shut off. But we weren't going to let that happen. We called him immediately and basically said that that wasn't a good reason not to come to church and that his life would be blessed so much for coming. He said he would think about it. Then we were starting to drive to church and we texted him again and he responded saying he would be there!! He came to church and loved it! We then set up a lesson for later that day. We went in and told him that the only was he could get baptized is if he stopped smoking. He said he would quit. We asked him if he would throw away all his cigarettes right then and there. He said he would take them to his neighbor. But then we were like no Jimmy you need to throw them away. So we took the cigarettes from him and threw them away 🚮 And then after the lesson we took out his trash. 💪💪He said that he was very grateful and he knows we were sent from God. So now he's progressing towards baptism again. Moral of the story is that if you have things that are keeping you from your Savior, just throw it out!

We drove in to Vegas today because we've got zone conference tomorrow‼️ So we're staying at my old apartment tonight! Shoutout Elder Gates 💪

I hope y'all have a great week!
