#22 Bye Son

 How's it going? I hope everyone had a great new years! This email will probably be pretty short. 


On new years day me and Elder Empey both woke up exactly at midnight when they started shooting off the fireworks. They were the loudest fireworks I've ever heard. Las Vegas definitely knows how to party. The next day there was nobody on the streets. It was so empty.

This week was not too eventful. We went out with a priest on Friday which was really fun. We found out that he has the same birthday as me which is pretty cool.

On Sunday we got transfer calls and they're taking my son away from me 😭 But he's going with my mtc comp Elder Taylor which is pretty cool. My new comp is Elder Gates who is one transfer younger than me. I'm also going to be the district leader this transfer. So we'll see how this goes.

My spiritual thought this week is from the Restoration proclamation. The very first line talks about how God loves all of His children in every nation of the world. I think it's so cool that the proclamation about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ begins with talking about God's love for us. It's because that's the whole reason the gospel was on the Earth in the first place, and why it's so important that it was restored. God loves us so much and He wants us to be happy. That is why He restored the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. He wanted us to be able to feel the absolute joy that comes from making and keeping covenants with Him. As you study in the doctrine and Covenants this year, I invite you to keep this important principle in mind. Everything in there points to God's love for each if His children!

#10 Transfers and Dia de la Familia

First I'll start with the transfer news. Both me and Elder Judd were sorta transferred. He is now a zone leader and he has one of our wards (Alexander) and a Spanish ward. I have our other ward (Painted Desert) and then Mountain Crest. My wards are in two different stakes which is weird for my mission. My new companion is Elder Hansen. This transfer should be pretty good. It's also different because it's only 5 weeks because of Thanksgiving so it'll be pretty fast. I'm sad that I'm leaving my papi Elder Judd but Elder Hansen will be a great companion. This past transfer had been hard to find lessons, but this week we had so many miracles. #5-Viva Las Vegas

 What's up everyone!? This past week has definitely been crazy! There's been a lot that was good and a lot that was hard, but I guess that's missionary work for you. If you didn't hear last week, my first companion is Elder Judd who I went to high school with. It's been really fun to talk about home with him. He thinks it's really crazy that when he tells his stories I actually know who he's talking about   My first area is in the Meadows stake which is northwest Las Vegas. We cover two wards in that stake. If you guys have never been to Las Vegas and you want to know what it's like, just imagine Idaho, but like 10-15 degrees hotter and where you see grass, instead picture rocks and dirt. Other than that it's not too different from what I know. But the drivers are a lot crazier which has made for some fun car rides. But I guess I have seen a bit of grass because one area is a little more wealthy so they can afford to care for grass. Also most of the ...
