How's it going everyone? I hope you've been doing well! These past couple weeks have been pretty crazy.
Last week on Wednesday we had zone conference. It was really good as always. We gave a training on overcoming fear. I didn't get to do a lot of the planning for it because I was on an exchange when they planned it, so I was basically just winging it. After zone conference I rode to Pahrump with Elder Empey!! It was good to see my niΓ±o again. I spent the entire week in Pahrump and Ioved it so much. There's just a different spirit out there. I got to spend a couple days with the Spanish missionaries out there. It was really fun and really good even though mi espaΓ±ol es muy triste

We went on a couple morning runs and it was gorgeous outside! The weather was so heavenly. There's an amazing new member out there named Emery. He's only been a member for 2 or 3 months but he blesses the sacrament every week, he got his patriarchal blessing, and he brings his Book of Mormon to school and reads it on his free time. He's definitely a great example for me!

I also got to go on a quick blitz with my second trainer Elder Hansen and his trainee Elder Booth (shoutout Mountain View High School
). It was so much fun! They are both amazing missionaries and we basically had dinner with Dwayne the rock Johnson. They have a member in their ward who looks and sounds exactly like The Rock. Except the member is cooler because he's won the super bowl and most importantly has a testimony of Jesus Christ
At the end of the dinner, he gave us all hugs so I feel like I can tell people that I've hugged the Rock.

For those of you who don't know, Carl is such a legendary ward. Basically everyone wants to talk to you. We found so many people who are prepared for the restored Gospel. We talked to this one guy named Lenny who didn't want to hear a message but he said we could say a pray with him. After the prayer we could tell he was feeling the spirit so we shared a scripture. He said we could come back 2 days later and now he's on date for baptism. It's crazy how the Lord works.
This week Elder Dunn from the seventy is coming to the mission! I'm so excited to learn from him and the Spirit. Because he's here this week and it's also the last week of the transfer, we had to move transfer planning up to last week. I got to participate on Thursday and it's crazy how it works. It's like you're trying to solve a puzzle when you don't know what it's supposed to look like. But it's so cool when it comes together and just feels right. It's also insane that I basically already know my transfer details even though it's not for another week.
I also got to go on an exchange with my MTC comp Elder Taylor. It was so good to be back with him!
My favorite verse that I read this week was from the book of Acts. At this point, the apostles had been put preaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ. People got really mad so they arrested them and beat them. This verse is their response to the persecution they were facing
"41 ¶ And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name."
Acts 5:41
I think it's so cool that the Lord had chosen us to suffer shame for His name. Missionary work is difficult. There is so much opposition, but when I'm take a step back and realize that the Lord Jesus Christ has called me to this work, it totally changes my entire perspective. Instead of being a burden, it's now an honor to go through trials and suffer shame for Jesus Christ. Don't be ashamed of your testimony! Go out and share it and you'll find joy whether or not they accept your message. God is good!
Have a fantastic week!
Elder Jensen
